Impact of COVID-19 – Primus Group Communication Update
Dear Valued Clients,
We wanted to keep you updated about the functioning of Primus Group companies in the wake of the spread of the coronavirus and COVID-19 illnesses. We are open for business and personnel from PrimusLabs, PrimusGFS, Azzule, and Core Support Services will continue to be able to assist you with your food safety needs. However, we do acknowledge that municipalities, counties, states, and the Federal governments have instituted restrictions on the movement and gathering of people and may continue to roll out new restrictions and guidelines over the upcoming days and weeks. Primus Group is committed to honoring those restrictions and guidelines to the extent possible.
While we, like most people throughout the world, recognize that we must take special precautions to protect others and ourselves by practicing common sense hygiene techniques that will minimize the spread of all types of disease, we also recognize the imperative role that food and food supply chains will play in keeping us healthy during the course of this health crisis. In addition, food safety threats to food supplies are still very real, despite our focus and attention on the coronavirus.
Toward that end, all of the PrimusLabs laboratory locations in both the US and Mexico are open and accepting samples for testing. Our samplers can also pull both field and facility samples for you, provided our presence does not violate any restrictions against outside visitors.
PrimusGFS has reminded all certification bodies the allowance to extend certifications for auditees that cannot have renewal audits on their farms or facilities.
Azzule’s supply chain platform is an excellent way for companies to continue to monitor food safety by sharing information, including audit, laboratory, and other food safety documents. Azzule’s cloud-based system is a safe and secure way to continue to monitor your supply chains, which are more critical now than they have ever been.
For companies that are importing food from other nations and are obligated to follow the Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP), Core Support Services experts are ready and willing to serve you as Qualified Individuals, who can monitor your foreign suppliers’ food safety efforts.
